Gunfire erupted after rapper Tekashi69 escaped jail time in New York on Friday, USA TODAY has confirmed.
The controversial rapper was sentenced to probation for a conviction stemming from the use of a child in a sexual performance.
TMZ first reported a shooting occurred at Tekashi69's (real name is Daniel Hernandez) celebration following the sentencing.
New York police confirmed to USA TODAY that a 29-year-old male was shot in the abdomen in midtown early Friday evening. "It was a conflict between security guards," said Lt Paul Ng. The shooting happened in front of 33 East 60th, which is the address for restaurant Philippe Chow.
